Compliance of Use
Users agree to use DF Protocol only for lawful and compliant purposes. The protocol must not be used to engage in any activities that violate the laws and regulations of the user's jurisdiction, including but not limited to money laundering, terrorist financing, cyberattacks, or infringement of others' rights. If the user’s location imposes specific legal requirements on blockchain technology or crypto assets, the user is responsible for ensuring that their actions comply with local regulations.
Assumption of Risk
DF Protocol is a decentralized open-source protocol provided “as is.” Users understand and agree that using DF Protocol may involve risks such as software vulnerabilities, consensus forks, cryptographic attacks, and more. Although the development team will make best efforts to ensure security and stability, it does not bear liability for losses incurred during use. Users must independently evaluate and accept any commercial or technical risks associated with participating in the protocol.
Accounts and Identity
Nodes participating in the DF Protocol network must safeguard their private keys and identity credentials. Any losses resulting from leaked or improperly managed private keys are solely the user’s responsibility. Users are prohibited from impersonating others by using unauthorized identity keys; if detected, the network reserves the right to deny their connection. Accounts under multisig control must ensure that private keys are jointly managed to mitigate single-point failure. DF Protocol is not responsible for losses caused by poor internal management.
Community Conduct
Users participating in the DF community (including but not limited to forums, Discord, GitHub submissions, etc.) must follow principles of friendliness and openness, and refrain from making insulting, defamatory, or harassing remarks. For malicious behavior—such as disrupting the network or spreading misinformation—the community has the right to restrict permissions through governance measures. All contributions (such as code submissions), once merged, are licensed under the open-source agreement, and contributors agree to waive personal exclusive rights to such contributions.
Service Termination and Changes
DF Protocol is an open-source autonomous project. Its core codebase and network operations may be upgraded, forked, or discontinued based on community decisions. Major protocol changes will be announced in advance through on-chain governance and timelock mechanisms. Users may choose whether to continue using the updated protocol; those who disagree with the changes may stop using it and exit the network. Continued use constitutes acceptance of the updated rules. The team will announce planned upgrades or hard forks in advance and minimize service interruptions, but bears no legal responsibility for temporary downtime.
Intellectual Property
The DF Protocol whitepaper, documentation, and software code are open-source outputs published under the MIT License or Apache 2.0 License (as applicable). Unless otherwise stated, anyone may freely use, modify, or distribute the project under the terms of the open-source license. Meanwhile, the name “DF Protocol” and its associated branding are community assets and must not be used for fraudulent purposes or unrelated commercial promotion. Misuse of the name or infringement of intellectual property rights may result in legal action. Suggestions and feedback submitted to the community are considered non-confidential, and the DF team may use them at its discretion without compensation.
These Terms of Use aim to safeguard the healthy operation of the DF Protocol ecosystem and protect participant rights. Participation in this protocol signifies that the user has read, understood, and agreed to all the terms above. If you have questions, you may seek clarification through official community channels. Within the limits permitted by law, the DF Protocol community reserves the final right of interpretation of these terms.
